There’s a way of seeing the world that turns the everyday into something worth

contemplating. A gaze that’s unhurried, that listens to silence, and finds beauty in

the invisible rhythms of life. That’s the gaze of Rubia Mendes — a visual artist and

photographer who guides us through the streets of Paris with tenderness and

lyricism, creating images that go beyond simply capturing moments. Each click

becomes a poetic fragment of reality — a subtle invitation to pause and see more

deeply.

Rubia Mendes’ path to this moment has been as rich and diverse as her creative

expression. From Passo Fundo to Caxias do Sul, her journey included Social

Communication, Cinema, Art History, music, and dance — all of which shaped her

aesthetic sensitivity and prepared her for a rediscovery of photography after the

birth of her daughter Maria Luiza in 2012. It began with family portraits, then photo

sessions, until she realized her true artistry emerged when she let intuition lead

technique. One simple photo, taken with a modest camera in an ordinary setting,

caught the eye of a friend who suggested turning it into a piece of art. And so,

somewhere between serendipity and wonder, a new chapter began — one that

was freer, more authentic.

It was in the simplicity of everyday life that Rubia found her true calling. Realizing

her art was born from the poetry of fleeting moments, from beauty in the details,

and from the freedom of expression, she embraced abstract photography as her

primary visual language. Even in urban scenes, this abstract approach shines

through, turning her images into visual riddles — invitations to contemplation and

imagination.

With both technical precision and artistic intuition, Rubia reveals textures,

movements, and atmospheres that often go unnoticed by the untrained eye. Her

photographs are like windows into a world of subtlety, where light and shadow

dance in perfect harmony.

This unique sensitivity hasn’t gone unnoticed — one of her original images caught

the attention of a French magazine, propelling her work beyond Brazil’s borders. In

a short time, her photos began appearing in the pages of the prestigious Casa

Vogue Brasil, establishing her as a rising force in the contemporary art scene. And

now, ArtNow Report is proud to present her series captured in the streets of Paris —

a gift to our readers who appreciate the beauty and poetry of the everyday. It’s as

if her lens suspends time, quiets color, and reveals only the essence of the scene.

What could have been mundane becomes symbolic. The ordinary becomes

mysterious.
