A new light is rising in the world of Brazilian abstract art — a talent shaped by

passion and resilience: Carrijo Siliano. His story, woven with persistence and an

unwavering drive for innovation, proves that true artistic calling goes far beyond

traditional paths. It was in the fertile lands of Mato Grosso do Sul that this self-

taught artist first took root, before blooming into full creative force.

At just twelve years old, Carrijo already felt the pull of brushes, colors, and textures.

Despite not having formal training, his decision to dedicate his life to art was

unshakable — a calling from the soul that would guide his every step. For nearly

two decades, he’s lived in the countryside of São Paulo, fully immersed in the

visual arts, drawing early inspiration from masters like Kandinsky and Pollock.

His early work echoed the freedom and expressive spirit of those giants, but

Carrijo wanted more. He craved a voice of his own — a raw, personal way to

express how he sees the world. That quest became even more profound when he

was diagnosed with essential tremor, a neurological condition that made it

difficult to use brushes and pencils — tools most artists consider fundamental.

For Carrijo, limitation was never an obstacle — it was a springboard for

reinvention. He left behind conventional techniques and embraced the

spontaneity of palette knives, the freedom of using his hands, the fluidity of paint,

the boldness of spray cans, and the transparency of resin.

As early as 2003, Carrijo Siliano was already pushing boundaries with graffiti-style

spray paint, exploring the lightness and speed of urban gestures.

By 2016, he dove even deeper into his artistic exploration, incorporating acrylic

paints and experimenting with unconventional materials rarely used in Brazil,

kickstarting a creative journey that would lead to a unique and vibrant artistic

language.

His pioneering spirit earned him a place as an innovator — an artist unafraid to

push the boundaries of abstract art. His works, rich in texture, movement, and vivid

color, reflect the strength of his soul, the authenticity of his voice, and the

unfiltered freedom of his vision.

Though he’s walked an independent path, Carrijo Siliano’s talent hasn’t gone

unnoticed. He’s taken part in numerous exhibitions, gained admirers across the

globe, and watched his work cross borders — carrying with it a powerful message:

that art is a transformative force, capable of inspiring, moving, and connecting

people from all walks of life.
