Even when flirting with figuration, his works remain deeply
subjective. They invite interpretation — but also reflect
reality. What he sees in the rivers, in the mangroves, in the
vast “green sea” of the Amazon is both dazzling and tragic.
His art translates inner unrest into form — and his canvas
becomes a battlefield between ethics and aesthetics.
And “Legal Amazonia?” is the undeniable proof. The work
materializes his belief that an artist must be critical. He
doesn’t illustrate a cry for help — he builds an object in
which tension, matter, and form are the cry. The beauty in
his work is a lure — a beautiful and terrible weapon. He
draws us in with color only to confront us with the crime.
